Our hearing care services in Houma are designed to help you hear your best through a more thorough, personalized approach.

Diagnostic Services

Accurate answers begin with a complete understanding of your hearing. Our diagnostic services go beyond identifying hearing loss—they help clarify how hearing challenges are affecting communication, clarity, and daily life.

Hearing Evaluation

A comprehensive, doctor-led evaluation that includes case history, diagnostic testing, and clear communication of your results. By carefully assessing your hearing profile, we lay the foundation for accurate diagnosis, meaningful recommendations, and the right next steps.

Auditory Processing Evaluation

Designed for individuals who hear sounds well but struggle to understand speech—especially in noise. We assess how the brain processes sound and provide a plan for improvement when appropriate.

Cerumen Removal

Safe and comfortable earwax removal using video otoscopy and effective in-office techniques. Ideal for improving comfort, hearing clarity, and hearing aid performance.

Hearing Aid Services

Our hearing aid services are built around a more thorough, specialized approach to care. Using advanced verification equipment, precise fitting methods, and careful follow-up, we make sure your technology is set correctly, functioning properly, and optimized for the best possible performance in everyday life.

Hearing Aid Fitting

Your hearing aids are calibrated to prescriptive targets using real-ear measures, verifying settings on your ears with precision—not guesswork. After verification, we complete a comfort assessment and fine-tune for clear, natural sound.

You’ll also receive guided orientation and practical coaching so you know what to expect, how to use your devices confidently, and how to get the best results in everyday listening.

Hearing Aid Repair

When a hearing aid isn’t working as expected, we start by identifying the cause. We often begin with a cleaning and performance check to confirm whether the issue is maintenance-related or a true device failure.

If a repair is needed, we coordinate manufacturer-supported service and help you understand the next steps to restore proper function as quickly as possible.

Hearing Aid Demonstration

Experience recommended hearing technology in your own real-world environments before moving forward. Our in-home demonstrations are selected to closely match the devices you would ultimately purchase, helping confirm comfort, sound quality, and real-life benefit before making a commitment.

Hearing Aid Cleaning And Performance Check

Routine cleanings and performance checks help keep your hearing aids working their best. When possible, we perform objective electroacoustic analysis using a hearing aid test box to verify your devices are functioning within manufacturer specifications.

Some hearing aids purchased elsewhere may be “locked,” which can limit access to the settings required for this type of testing. Even when test-box verification isn’t possible, we still thoroughly inspect, clean, and assess device function—and will clearly explain what we’re able to confirm and what options are available.

Hearing Aid Conformity Evaluation

Already have hearing aids from another provider? We use real-ear measures and speech mapping to verify how closely your current fitting matches prescriptive targets—even if your devices are locked. This helps confirm whether you’re getting the audibility and clarity your hearing aids are capable of delivering.

Hearing Aid Reprogramming

We adjust hearing aid settings to match your hearing and listening needs. This may include fine-tuning amplification for comfort and preferences, updating amplification as hearing changes over time, refining sound processing, or creating custom programs for specific environments.

If your hearing aids are locked by another provider, we’re unable to make programming changes—but we can recommend a conformity evaluation to verify real-ear performance and help you understand your options.

Protection & Wellness Services

Hearing health is long-term. Our protective and rehabilitative services are designed to help you preserve hearing, strengthen communication, and get more from the sounds that matter most over time.

Custom Hearing Protection

Custom-fit solutions for musicians, shooters, workers, and anyone exposed to loud environments. Designed for comfort, clarity, and long-term protection.

Auditory Therapy

Personalized therapy for hearing aid users and individuals with auditory processing difficulties, designed to improve listening skills, speech understanding, and communication confidence.

Frequently Asked Questions

What happens during a hearing evaluation?

Your hearing evaluation includes both a comprehensive diagnostic assessment and a communication needs assessment, allowing us to understand not only how your ears are functioning, but how hearing challenges are affecting you in everyday situations.

Throughout the appointment, we combine testing with conversation—asking questions, listening to your concerns, and relating findings back to real-world communication. After testing is complete, we take the time to explain your results clearly, discuss what they mean for you, and outline appropriate next steps when needed.

Our goal is to provide accurate answers, meaningful context, and confidence—without pressure.

Can I schedule without a referral?

Yes. No referral is needed. As a private-pay audiology clinic, you can schedule directly.

Can you work with hearing aids purchased elsewhere?
Yes — in most cases, we can provide care for hearing aids that were purchased from another clinic or retailer. What we are able to do depends on whether the devices can be programmed using the manufacturer’s software.

Here’s how it works:

  • If the devices are unlocked and compatible:
We can clean, repair, verify performance in the test box, and adjust programming as needed. This allows us to optimize the devices to your hearing prescription and ensure they are performing within manufacturer specifications.

  • If the devices are locked:
Some retail chains sell hearing aids that are “locked,” meaning only that company can access the programming software. In these cases, we can still provide clean and checks, wax management, general repairs, Redux drying, and test box analysis, but we are not able to reprogram the devices.

If you’re unsure whether your hearing aids are locked, feel free to bring them in — we’re happy to check and let you know what services we can provide.

Do you accept insurance?
We do not bill insurance directly for in-network services — and for many patients, this is an advantage. Not being bound to insurance allows us to provide a higher standard of care without the time-consuming administrative requirements or treatment limitations imposed by insurance plans.

Here’s what that means for you:

  • More of our time is spent on patient care, not paperwork.
We’re not tied up with credentialing, pre-authorizations, denials, or appeals. That time is invested directly into your evaluation, treatment, and long-term success.

  • Your treatment plan is determined by you and your doctor — not an insurance company.
You receive the testing, follow-up, and technology options that best support your hearing goals, without restrictions on what can be recommended or fitted.

  • We support out-of-network benefits.
If your insurance includes out-of-network coverage, we can submit claims electronically through our Claim.MD system, or provide documentation for you to file on your own. Many patients receive partial reimbursement depending on their plan.

  • Flexible financing is available.
We offer CareCredit financing to help make your treatment and technology more accessible if you prefer monthly payments.

Our goal is simple: to provide the thorough care, advanced testing, and personalized support needed to help patients hear their best—without compromise, limitations, or delays caused by insurance barriers.

We proudly serve patients from Houma, Thibodaux, Raceland, Gray, and surrounding communities throughout Terrebonne and Lafourche Parishes.
