What happens during a hearing evaluation?
Your hearing evaluation includes both a comprehensive diagnostic assessment and a communication needs assessment, allowing us to understand not only how your ears are functioning, but how hearing challenges are affecting you in everyday situations.
Throughout the appointment, we combine testing with conversation—asking questions, listening to your concerns, and relating findings back to real-world communication. Can I schedule without a referral?
Yes. No referral is needed. As a private-pay audiology clinic, you can schedule directly.
Can you work with hearing aids purchased elsewhere?
Yes — in most cases, we can provide care for hearing aids that were purchased from another clinic or retailer. What we are able to do depends on whether the devices can be programmed using the manufacturer’s software.
Here’s how it works:
If the devices are unlocked and compatible:
We can clean, repair, verify performance in the test box, and adjust programming as needed. This allows us to optimize the devices to your hearing prescription and ensure they are performing within manufacturer specifications.
If the devices are locked:
Some retail chains sell hearing aids that are “locked,” meaning only that company can access the programming software. In these cases, we can still provide clean and checks, wax management, general repairs, Redux drying, and test box analysis, but we are not able to reprogram the devices.
If you’re unsure whether your hearing aids are locked, feel free to bring them in — we’re happy to check and let you know what services we can provide.
Do you accept insurance?
We do not bill insurance directly for in-network services — and for many patients, this is an advantage. Not being bound to insurance allows us to provide a higher standard of care without the time-consuming administrative requirements or treatment limitations imposed by insurance plans.

If your insurance includes out-of-network coverage, we can submit claims electronically through our Claim.MD system, or provide documentation for you to file on your own. Many patients receive partial reimbursement depending on their plan.
